UNCG Student Chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics

Part of the purpose of the (AWM) Association for Women in Mathematics is to encourage women toward mathematical careers. We share information about resources, such as scholarships, mentoring, and workshops available to us as women in mathematics through AWM and other organizations. The other part is to promote equal treatment of women and other underrepresented minorities in mathematical sciences, and to discuss some of the subtle ways that inequality may appear in academia and other professional careers. In the future, we plan to ask visiting mathematicians to share their perspective and advice for us as we move toward professional careers, as well as programmatic meetings to discuss issues pertaining to women and minorities in mathematics, see the UNCG AWM student chapter bylaws.

UNCG American Statistical Association Student Chapter

UNCG ASA student chapters provide opportunities for students to connect with other students interested in statistics and interact with prominent statisticians locally and at national meetings. They also encourage students to continue studying statistics and provide career information in the statistical sciences. There are no scholastic requirements, and students need not be statistics majors. All students are welcome and encouraged to get involved.
