Research: Number Theory

History of SERMON

SERMON is a small, friendly and informal gathering of number theorists and combinatorialists. Faculty, graduate students and undergraduate students are all invited to attend, and to give talks if they wish.

SERMON typically takes place in the spring. There is a Friday evening reception at which the list of speakers is finalized and old SERMONERS eat drink and are merry. The talks are then held on Saturday and Sunday. Recently it has become popular but not required for the host institution to hold a special colloquium on the Friday afternoon preceeding SERMON.
