Michael Hull Joins the Department
The Department would like to welcome Michael Hull as a new faculty member! Michael Hull has a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University and will join us as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Fall of 2019.
Michael Hull received his Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University in 2013. He was a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago from 2013 to 2016, and a Post-Doctoral Associate at the University of Florida from 2016 to 2019. He is a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher and has taught a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate courses. His main research interests are in geometric group theory and low-dimensional topology, especially focusing on the relationship between the algebra of groups and the geometry and topology of graphs, surfaces and 3-manifolds.
