Congratulations to two of our math majors, Gabriel Wheeler and Aryaman Jana, for achieving extraordinary scores on the 2025 Putnam exam. The Putnam exam is a famously difficult undergraduate mathematics competition exam, where earning any score above 0 is generally considered an impressive feat. On the 2025 Putnam exam, 4329 undergraduate students took the exam, and the average score was a 10 while the median score was a 2 out of the possible 120 points. Gabriel scored 18, putting him in the 78th percentile of all Putnam test takers, while Aryaman scored 13, putting him in the 74th percentile.
Congratulations Gabriel and Aryaman!
