UNCG Summer School in Computational Number Theory

The UNCG Summer School in Computational Number Theory was held May 22-May 26, 2017. There were 31 participants who attended the workshop from various universities. Thanks go to Dan Yasaki, Sebastian Pauli, Filip Saidak, and Brett Tangedal for organizing a successful workshop.

Jeong Sihm successfully defended his PhD dissertation

On March 22, Jeong Sihm successfully defended his PhD dissertation titled, “Modified Binary Randomized Response Technique Models”. He had been working under the guidance of Sat Gupta, and he is currently on a Visiting Assistant Professor position at Guilford College.

The NSF officially announced the project entitled “REU Site: Mathematical Biology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro” is funded for $304,959 from May 1, 2017 through April 30, 2020. The department congratulates Jan Rychtar (PI), Olav Rueppell (Co-PI) and senior personnel David Remington, Jonathan Rowell, Xiaoli Gao, Igor Erovenko and Filip Saidak on this excellent achievement.
