5 new Ph.D. graduates

This summer we had 5 new Ph.D. graduates. Quinn Morris successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation titled: “Analysis of Classes of Superlinear Semipositone Problems with Nonlinear Boundary Conditions”. Byungjae Son successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation titled: “Analysis of Classes of Singular Steady State Reaction Diffusion Equations”. Catherine Payne successfully defended her Ph.D. dissertation titled: “Approximation of Neutral Delay-Differential Equations”. Jonathan Milstead successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation titled: “Computing Galois Groups of Eisenstein Polynomials over p-acidic Fields”. Ricky Farr successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation titled: “Results about Fractional Derivatives of Zeta Functions”. Quinn and Byungjae were advised by Ratnasingham Shivaji. Catherine was advised by Rich Fabiano. Jonathan and Ricky were advised by Sebastian Pauli. Our department has now had a total of 11 Ph. D. graduates, including the following 6 previous Ph. D. graduates: Abraham Abebe (“Positive Solutions of Nonlinear Elliptic Boundary Value Problems”, advisor: Maya Chhetri), Danielle Moran (“Permanence Results for Dimension-Theoretic Course Notions”, advisor: Greg Bell), Brian Sinclair ( “Algorithms for Enumerating Invariants and Extensions of Local Fields”, advisor: Sebastian Pauli), Christopher Vanlangenberg (“Data Generation and Estimation for Axially Symmetric Processes on the Sphere”, advisor: Haimeng Zhang), Tanja Zatezalo (“Generalized Mixture Estimators for the Finite Population Mean”, advisor: Sat Gupta), and Jeong Sep Sihm (“Modified Binary Randomized Response Technique Models”, advisor: Sat Gupta).
