UNCG undergraduate mathematics majors, Isaac Hammond and Rishav Patel, have been enjoying some recent exposure highlighting their undergraduate research experience. After some sharing of their research goals and experiences on the WUAG 103.1 FM radio show “Research T at the G: Arts and Sciences and Every Thing In Between” on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, Isaac and Rishav virtually attended and presented their research at the 4th International Mathematics and Statistics Student Research Symposium on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Isaac and Rishav have been working with their mentor, Dr. Ratnasingham Shivaji, on a research project titled, “Effects of density-dependent emigration on landscape models with strong Allee type growth terms.” Dr. Shivaji shares that Isaac and Rishav delivered an excellent presentation, and that, “Their work was thoughtful, well-executed, and presented with clarity and confidence, truly reflecting the high standard of their efforts. It is a genuine pleasure to work with such dedicated and talented students.”
