With the development of high technology and the explosion of big data from different fields, there is an urgent need for the robust analysis of complex big data with different types of irregularities, such as asymmetry, contamination, high-dimensionality, and censoring. In this talk, I will first present a few of my recent research work on robust high-dimensional data analysis with applications in genetics and cancer studies. Then I will introduce some ongoing work on robust machine learning methods with applications in both image classification and stock prediction.
