Susan Marie Hermiller is an American mathematician specializing in the computational, combinatorial, and geometric theory of groups. She is Willa Cather Professor of Mathematics and Graduate Chair for Mathematics at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Dr. Hermiller is also a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society.

Abstract: Group theory is the study of symmetries of objects. In this talk I’ll discuss geometric properties of infinite groups that give rise to computational algorithms that can be performed by computers with a finite amount of memory.
